TG.far2go.net offers information about TG groups & events, and businesses & services of interest to TGs/TSs/CDs in the Sacramento, California (USA) vicinity. It does not try to be "everything transgender," although you will find links and news feeds here to other more general sites.
TG.far2go.net began as the Wiki section of the Sacramento Gender Association (SGA) website. The Wiki was an experiment: people could search it for TG resource information, but they could also add to it their own favorite resources and comments about what was already out there.
The experiment worked, partly. People used the Wiki, but very few ever contributed anything new to it. Unfortunately, the Wiki software being used was not very attractive, was somewhat difficult to use, and had Internet security issues. Ultimately, it was necessary to remove it because it was enabling hackers to repeatedly take down the entire SGA website.
The present website uses the Joomla content manager. It looks much nicer, and it is much more secure. You can easily add comments and ratings to many of the articles posted here and we invite you to do so. You can also submit new web links and articles, and we will consider including them on the website.
